The Force is Strong With These

What a difference a player can make. The Cubs have been struggling with defense for the past few weeks. Errors have led to plenty of runs for the opposing teams. But that all changed with the return of shortstop Elmy Antonio. Elmy has been away at college and made his debut this past Sunday. That allowed the Cubs to place Nick Sthlman at 3B and utility infielder Fidel Hunter at 2B. The return of Elmy did nothing but create an infield worth watching. Elmy and Nick made amazing plays and the Cubs defense turned double plays like it was natural. Not to be outdone, pitcher Edgar Campusano pitched 7 scoreless innings behind that very good defense. No walks, 5ks and making quick work of the Sharks whom were only able to get a runner on 3rd base once. Than there was the offense. The Cubs would grab the 1-0 lead after a blast to deep left field off of the bat of non other than Tyrone Boomer Jackson. Jackson would hit his 1st HR of the season, and the Cubs would never look back again as they would go on to win 10-0. It is a bright future for these young Cubs and the team still working with some missing players whom should be returning in the coming weeks. Well folks hope you enjoyed the article, I know #17 for the Cubs will. Happy Mothers day to all the moms out there. The Cubs will be off this weekend before returning to action on the 21st.
