Down 0-2 in the standings and needing to get some wins, the Cubs would go to work this past Sunday against the Melonheads. Joshua Reyes would take to the mound and he would have a very good outing. He would go all 5 innings allowing a run while having 5 KOs; he would amazingly alow 2 hits and would only have 1 walk. The Cubs would only need 5 innings to 10 run rule the Melonheads. The Cubs would get 5 in the 1st inning, 2 in the 3rd inning and 4 in the 4th inning to put away the Melonheads. Cubs would go on to win game 1 11-1. The offense stepped it up this weekend as they need it to if they are to even get any where this fall.

In game 2 the Cubs would go on to win 4-0. Behind a stellar performance from Jose Alvarez of all people. Jose would pitch all 7 innings shutout and complete game. He would allow 4 hits, no walks with 11Ks. His best performance ever for as long as I can remember.

Both pitchers Joshua Reyes and Jose Alvarez deserved game balls. We were short handed, we didn't have any one else to pitch and these boys went out there and held their own. Thank you boys for being there and stepping up to the plate when need to. Thank you for being responsible and what it means to be there for the team. Keep leading by example, and keep working hard. See you boys next weekend.
