Bats Heat Up

The Cubs continue to roll. Facing a good NJ Warriors team whom although had lost their double header last week were not so easy to beat. Through the first 4 innings the Warriors pitcher would cruise to surprise the Cubs hitter but in the 5th  the bats would start to catch up. Top of the 5th, Benito Gonzalez would lead off the inning with a single followed by another single by Lou Sihlanick. Ryan Klouser would would sacrifice bunt and move the runners over to scoring position to 2nd and third with the top of the lineup coming up. Manny Plumacher would hit a soft ground ball to the pitcher but would drive in the much needed run to give the Cubs the 1-0 lead. In the 7th the Cubs bats would be at it again. With back to backs walks to Les Polk and Ryan Carmon, Lou Sihlanick would crack a double to left center gap to bring in Les and Carmon for the 3-1 lead Cubs. Klouser would single and with runners at 1st and 3rd with 1 out, Kyle Fisher would be added to the bottom of the lineup to hit a Sac Fly RBI bringing in Lou for the score of 4-1 Cubs. The Cubs were not done. In the 8th, Matt JAM! , and Eli Reyes would both single, Mike would walk to load the bases with 1 out. With the bases loaded, Les Polk would put it on the ground for a fielders choice but that would drive in a run and the next batter Benito Gonzalez would do the same as the Warriors shortstop would commit the error bringing in another run for the score of 6-0. But we cannot go on in this article without mentioning Ryan Klousers performance. The flame thrower would go 8 innings, fanning 8k while allowing no runs. Benito Gonzalez would come in to close the game in the 9th as he seems to have claimed the role of closer for the Cubs.

NOTES: Ketih Lourfing is cleared for at bats and debuts. (throws a tantrum after striking out - Relax kid 1 at bat at a time, keep working)

Steve Columbus vagina still hurts but if he hopes to qualify he better start showing up.

I was very impressed with SOME of you guys. You guys were more patient and had better at bats than last week. Some of you still don't listen and are getting frustrated. I will send a text message to you individually to talk. Next week we face the Sharks in  a double header. Ryan Carmon will start game 1. Game 2 will be TBA. Keep it up boys see you at Wednesday Practice.
