Upchurch, Mirabal, Ryan, Mistrette and Murin win by Unanimous Vote

As the Spring campaign winds down to a close, the New Jersey Amateur Baseball League has announced regular season award winners for all leagues.

In Premiere, awards were split between North and South since the divisions were so deep. In the North, Rich Anastasi won the Cy Young over Brian Sietsma by a few votes. His 66 k;s, 0.82 ERA, 0.67 WHIP with 6CG were too much for the rest of the field. Down South, Somerville Giants ace Carlos Mirabal swept the vote for the Cy, with a 6-1 record, miniscule 0.35 ERA and 0.67 WHIP with 36 ks. NJ Marlins OF H.R. Gorski narrowly beat out Giants OF Bill Pareve and Ryan Brady for MVP honors, with a .492 AVG, 31 H, 21 RBI, 16 R and 20 SB stat line for 2013.

In North Wood, Las Aguilas ace Nick Menendez threw for a 1.68 ERA, 0.93 WHIP, 65ks and a 2-3 record with 2 saves. The race was tight, as he just snuck past Avery Brooks & Mark Tiarra of the NJ Bulls in the vote. First baseman Bill Ryan was the unanimous decision on MVP, posting 36 hits, 13 RBI, 24 Runs and a league high .621 avg and .662 OBP.
