The Clippers opened up the 2013 campaign on Sunday at Billian Field. Jared Fowler started the game on the mound for the Clippers and promptly struck out the first batter he faced. Peter Polizzano and George Tomasello had the first hits of the season for the Clippers in the 2nd inning, while Pat Darrah scored the first run in the 4th, scoring on a Jared Fowler double to left center field. After 5 innings, the Clippers trailed 4-1 and unfortunately, they ran out of gas. The Shockers were just too much for the upstart Clippers. Freddie Castro walked in the 6th inning and scored the second run of the season after Pat Darrah doubled deep to left field and Jose Pinto's RBI ground out.

In all, it was a successful day for the Clippers and it's fans ( if you were not scoring at home ). They looked sharp in their new uniforms and the team finally had a game under their belt together on the field at the same time.

It is safe to say that on Sunday in South River, the Clippers have no where to go but up. The double header on Sunday 4/21 starts at 1:00PM sharp. Please come out to support your Somerset Clippers.
